Press Release September 27th, 2005 - AskMe has recently been awarded a contract through the General Services Administration for the U.S. Census Bureau to supply its knowledge network technology. Initial research and analysis at the Census Bureau concluded that employees often struggled to find the right expertise and knowledge to solve problems critical to their job function. By selecting AskMe, the Census Bureau has chosen a comprehensive system to enable faster expertise location while also capturing and disseminating lessons learned.
The Census Bureau conducted a pilot deployment between cross-department functions such as Project Management, Capability Maturity Model, and Quality Assurance to increase collaboration and share lessons learned. The system was integrated with various systems such as Lotus Notes mail, Oracle portal and multiple web repositories. Based on the success of the pilot, the Census Bureau has decided to expand the footprint of the AskMe Enterprise system to leverage expertise more rapidly and increase the speed of execution on division wide projects
