WSA Honors AskMe Corporation As 'Most Promising New Company' In Industry Achievement Awards

AskMe Corporation, the leading provider of Expertise Management software and services for deploying employee knowledge networks (EKNs), announced today that its has been named as the 'Most Promising New Company' in the 8th Annual WSA Industry Achievement Awards.

Recognized as the largest and oldest technology trade association in the Pacific Northwest, WSA is dedicated to supporting the growth and success of Washington technology companies. WSA's Annual Industry Achievement Awards honors companies that have demonstrated excellence in technology through organizational growth, business viability, product innovation and marketplace success. In this year's event, AskMe Corporation competed alongside more than 100 technology companies, including industry leaders like Microsoft, digiMine and BSQUARE, to win one of the program's most prestigious accolades the 'Most Promising New Company' award.

AskMe's CEO Udai Shekawat was honored by AskMe's recognition and credits the company's success to its customer-focused business strategy and an escalating market demand for software and services that enable large organizations to leverage and capitalize on the tacit knowledge of their employees. "Being recognized by WSA and the Seattle technology community is clearly an honor for AskMe," said Shekawat, "This award serves as a testament to the company's growth, marketplace success and commitment to providing our Fortune 500 customers with industry-leading knowledge sharing software that has proven ROI."

AskMe's flagship product, AskMe Enterprise, is a software solution that connects employees with business problems to other employees who have the expertise and knowledge to help solve those problems. AskMe leads the industry as the first provider in its category to deliver a 3rd generation, feature rich EKN system that has been proven in large-scale enterprise deployments. Unlike traditional knowledge management technologies that solely aim to improve access to documents, EKNs not only locate documented knowledge, but more importantly, discover undocumented knowledge and expertise across the geographic, functional, and divisional boundaries within large organizations. EKNs then facilitate collaboration between employees and captures all exchanges, helping the workforce to make faster and more informed decisions, avoid redundancy and reduce project cycle times. Fortune 500 companies that include Ford, Honeywell and Boeing have deployed AskMe Enterprise to successfully reduce the "knowledge erosion" that occurs when employees retire, the company restructures, or when internal teams split and transition to new tasks after completing a project.

A selection committee comprised of WSA judges, local technology executives, academic and government technology experts and venture capitalists selected AskMe Corporation from a field of three finalists that were narrowed from more than 100 award applicants. In order to be selected, these companies had to meet multiple business and funding criteria indicative of future success.
