In IBM Lotus Environments
|
 |
 |
 |
|
 |
Build an Employee Knowledge Network on top of your existing
IBM Lotus software architecture.
Many leading IBM* Lotus* customers have deployed AskMe Enterprise to facilitate knowledge exchanges, capture
those exchanges, and spread best practices throughout their organizations. While AskMe Enterprise provides a
complete solution, some of our IBM Lotus customers have chosen to integrate AskMe Enterprise with their installed
Lotus products. AskMe Enterprise provides a number of out-of-box integration points for customers running in an IBM Lotus environment.
 |
Integrates with Lotus Notes*
and Domino Mail Server to enable users to submit questions or receive
system notifications via e-mail. Integrates with Lotus
Domino* Directory and LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access
Protocol). This integration ensures seamless
authentication for your users, and it serves as the
basis for building expertise profiles.
|
 |
Combines search results from
AskMe Enterprise knowledgebase with those from Lotus
Domino, Lotus Domino.doc*, and Lotus QuickPlace*
repositories. This integration helps knowledge seekers
find documents related to their queries.
|
 |
Analyzes
and mines Lotus Domino databases,
Lotus Domino Mail Server, Lotus Domino.doc, and Lotus
QuickPlace to profile users and their expertise. System
managers can perform one-time or periodic imports, or
they can configure AskMe Enterprise to perform auto-profiling
of employees. AskMe Enterprise uses these
profiles to help knowledge seekers find relevant experts
who can provide assistance.
|
In addition to the out-of-box
integration, enterprises can leverage the AskMe
Professional Services team to provide integration with
other IBM Lotus products. For example, enterprises using
Lotus Discovery Server* (LDS) can integrate AskMe
Enterprise to leverage advanced capabilities not present
in LDS, such as a conversation engine, ROI engine, or
reputation management feature suite. Or,
enterprises can integrate AskMe Enterprise with Sametime*
to integrate presence information on AskMe profile pages
and to capture Sametime instant messaging sessions in
the AskMe Enterprise knowledgebase.
|

|
 |
| AskMe
Enterprise combines search
results from its own
knowledgebase, Domino, and
QuickPlace. For expertise
profiling, AskMe Enterprise can
draw from Domino, QuickPlace,
and the Domino Directory.
Users can access AskMe
Enterprise through their Lotus
Notes e-mail, a Web browser, or
PDA. |
|
|
|

|
 |
| Users
can submit questions to AskMe
Enterprise and receive pointers
to relevant documents and
experts directly from their
Lotus Notes e-mail.
AskMe Enterprise manages
the conversation on the back-end
with a powerful business rules
and workflow engine to manage
notifications, approvals, and
escalations. |
